Google Public DNS gets DNS over TLS


Domain Name System simply known as DNS, takes care of the server IP’s when you search for a domain like A large section of the people uses their default DNs from their ISP but Google DNS is something which acted as the alternative from a long time.

It has been announced by Google that Google Public DNS now support DNS over TLS and can be used with Android Pie.

It is quite a good step taken by Google to secure users queries over Google Public DNS with the new DNS over TLS feature.

Google DNS services which works at IP addresses and will be converting the domain name into an IP address.

The Android 9 Pie users have to find the Private DNS setting in Android’s network settings and then set the DNS provider to And Voila you are done!!!

Even in October 2018, Google came out with Intra app to encrypt DNS queries via HTTPS connections. Google also added that Linux users must use the stubby resolver for using DNS over TLS now.

Even with DNs over TLS release Google is not the first to release or think for user’s safety. Many people use Cloudflare’s resolver from the April 2018 when it was released.

In November 2018, Cloudflare released Android and iOS apps for mobile users too.

Still VPN is the best choice to secure yourself on the internet.
